  • The colour is very deep, very close to the black. The scent reveals fragrances of blueberry, cassis, blond tobacco and spices, of a great aromatic complexity. The taste is elegant, structured and well-blanced. The tannins are fine, and the after taste is intensely long.

    In 1853, Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild purchased in auction the Château Brane Mouton in Pauillac, and renames it Château Mouton Rothschild, which will be ranked second Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
