The origins date back to the eighteenth century, but the castle Haut-Marbuzet truly knows the reputation from 1952, when the family becomes owner of the domain and is working to develop it.
The soil is composed of bank gravel and clay. It is planted with 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Late harvest, a long maceration and aging in oak barrels 100% brand new, give depth and generosity to these wines.
Haut-Marbuzet was promoted to the rank of Exceptional at the official classification of 2003.
