"Gardine" comes from the "watchtower", relative to the exceptional viewpoint that the castle has on the Rhone valley . Indeed, it is located west of the village of Châteauneuf-du-pape , 500 meters above sea level on a stony plateau and enjoys a magnificent view of the Alpilles and the city of Avignon.


The Brunel family has been using wine since the 17th century. It was at the end of World War II that Gaston Brunel, a wine merchant, bought the Château de la Gardine in Châteauneuf du Pape .



Today, the vineyard extends over 54 hectares of vines planted in one piece on pebbled soils and white limestone limestones so specific to the Châteauneuf-du-pape terroir. The vineyard, made up mainly of Grenache , is cultivated in reasoned agriculture, the harvest is done by hand in the respect of the soil and tradition. The breeding is done partly in barrel and in tank. The estate is renowned for these red wines and white wines in France but also abroad, with 70% of the production being exported to some thirty countries.
