Thanks to the returns of his missions on behalf of Louis XV, Jacques Kanon who was corsair of the king, bought in 1760 the domain to build a house and there develop the culture of the vine. His successor, Raymond Fontemoing continues his work and gives his name to Chateau Canon.

Since 1996, the Wertheimer family, owners of Chanel, has acquired the Château Canon and  has done considerable investment there.

Located on a limestone terrace for three quarters of its area (22 hectares), the site facing south / southwest rises to 87 meters; the remaining quarter of the vines down the hillside to the valley of the Dordogne.

Merlot is 75% majority, with Cabernet Franc.
